27 Dresses Promotional Poster

Best promotional poster I have seen in a while, great graphic design. Reminds me of Jonathan Safran-Foer's gray818 designed cover for Everything is Illuminated, in that both designs incooporate the boring small print (in JSF's case, the barcode and in the 27 Dresses case the studio information) into a crucial part of the design. This is what sets both designs apart. Also, with the 27 dresses, it is thematically aesthetitised obviously. Need to find out who worked on it. They even took the design promo further, on the red carpet:

Run for Covers: A Short History of Tractors in Ukranian

I have just finished reading this book - A Short History of Tractors in Ukranian by Marina Lewycka. It is about an old Ukranian man, who has an interest in engineering and the origins of tractors, living in England and his immigrant wife, Valentina. At first I found it a little slow & very self-aware and debutish, but I really liked it and the second half was great. It has a great sense of humour and brilliant characterisation. However, before reading it I already knew of its existence thanks to a great cover, once again designed by the graphic genius Jon Gray, of Gray318. (The man responsible for Jonathan Safran-Foer's covers). Excellent design.
