Urban Outfitters Lux Paris Top

This striking red cami with beautiful, beautiful Paris design at the bottom there. I love the aesthetics of the design and that it actually reminds me of Russian peasant aesthetics, especially with the red and the blue and white! I didn't win this item but it is still nice to admire!

Blood, Sweat and T-Shirts

Above is an excerpt from the BBC Three series, Blood Sweat and T-Shirts, documenting six supposed fashionistas from Britain (a few of which are about as far away from fashionistas as is possible. ie. one of them is a stereotypically bland Essex boy, oh wow fashion is a Topman bomber jacket and a scarf now is it?), one of whom look like your average trashy velour trackie bum etc etc, and one of whom can just afford to get tailored suits. Anyhow, these six are sent to a Delhi slum to work in the clothing manufacturing factories. It was an interesting episode. There is one brat called Richard though who is an obnoxious prick.

Does make you think about the clothes though. People probably think places like Primark are the worst, because their prices are so low, but in reality, they probably just mark up less and recoup profits by the sheer volume of garments they sell. The more expensive high street stores are just as exploitative, as the cost of their clothes probably does not reflect higher wages for the workers, but rather a higher mark up in the price.

Love the graphic t-shirt here, and the cardigan. Um, and the skirt. The glasses are a bit too Morrissey-esque and a bit too, erm, dangerously big. But all in all, a great Luella look.

Even though I'm not too keen on these photographs stylistically and technically I love the idea of these high fashion men dressed in cashmere and flat caps, ushankas and brogues playing basketball. I love the visual idea of that, and I think the first photograph in particular is brilliant! Look at that guy in the purple suit attempting a body block! Jason Lam is a San Franciso and New York located fashion photographer.



There's nothing super special about these photographs at all except that I really want that Coke mini-dispensing machine! Now! It's brilliant.
