The above is one of my favourite paintings of all time. It is entitled The Night Before the Examination by Leonid Pasternak. I love how true it is, even in this day and age. Procrastination and last-minute revision have obviously survived the 19th and 20th Centuries. Leonid Pasternak is the father of the Nobel laureate, Boris Pasternak. This painting has also been used as the cover to Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov. Great book. But this painting is sublime.
